End of Year Reflections

This time of year—in all of its gorgeous chaos—often finds us racing toward the finish line: That final gift to buy, that one last party to attend, that rush out the door for a holiday gathering. While we cherish the magic of the season and look forward to a clean slate in the new year, we also like to steal a few precious moments to quietly reflect on the year we’re leaving behind: What we’ve loved, learned, the challenges we’ve overcome and what we’ve accomplished in 2019.

Below, the Satya Jewelry team shares some of their favorite moments and lessons of the past year—and the hope and positivity that 2020 holds for each of them.

Want to join us? Make a list using these 4 simple steps:

1. Consider your challenges

2. Celebrate your highlights

3. List your blessings

4. Renew your focus for the year ahead

Satya Jewelry 2019 Reflections:

“Moving into a new year is always excited and a perfect opportunity to reflect on the year we are leaving behind and the new year we are being.  For me, 2019 was a year of great change. Breaking down old and rebuilding new.  This is sometimes very hard but I believe it has set the tone for the year ahead.  For this year I am grateful for all the people in my life that continue to believe in me and support me in all I do.  I have achieved the ability to let go and heal so much of my past challenges running Satya Jewelry which I am truly grateful for.  I am excited to begin a new year free of so much that has been weighing me down.  I feel excited about all the possibilities embarking on a new decade.  My eyes are open my heart is full and I am ready!” – Satya, Founder, and CEO

As this decade comes to a close, I can say this year has had its ups and downs but I am grateful to end the year in good health. I’ve always been a huge fan of fashion and design so I was most excited to learn that a collection I helped design for a friend had been picked up by a major retailer. Starting a new job 2 weeks after I moved into a new place was challenging but everyone was so supportive and helpful that it made the transition a lot easier. I am excited to see what 2020 brings!” – Asia, Director of Ecommerce

Starting at Satya Jewelry just 6 months ago, I can say that I feel like I found my happy place. Being surrounded by friendly, kind, smart and genuine people is a blessing and I couldn’t ask for a better team. Working in customer service can be challenging at times, however, after getting to know Satya’s customers and their deep attachment and true love for their jewelry and the meaning behind it is truly inspiring. This upcoming year I am excited to see all of our beautiful collections come to life, and how we can continue to grow and make our following even bigger!” – Tiara, Ecommerce & Customer Service Manager

As we enter 2020, I couldn’t have asked for a better year to close out the decade. Both personally and professionally, this year has been full of great challenges and rewards. I was so excited to have completed my first ever Marathon in early November and followed that with my all-time favorite collaboration launch: The Yoga Girl Collection. Both of these projects took a lot of hard work and dedication but wouldn’t have been possible without the support, collaboration, and teamwork from all of the amazing people around me. I am beyond excited to see what 2020 has in store!” – Ashlea, Marketing Director

Holiday Inspiration: The Night Sky

This Holiday season we drew our inspiration from the heavens above! Featuring designs inspired by the sun, moon and stars, The Night Sky collection is a celebration of the celestial bodies that govern our internal rhythms, encouraging us to shine brightly amidst even the darkest night.

New pendant necklaces and earrings mimic the night sky with white topaz stars that glisten like beacons against obsidian gunmetal backgrounds, their contrast infusing each design with inspiration and illuminating the path of dreams.

Sun symbols in gently hammered gold scatter light and harness vitality, calling to their wearer to embrace sacred life force.

Stretch bracelets in healing gemstones of hematite, black onyx and white jade capture the dichotomy of light and dark; stars and sky; sun and moon.

A mala—or ancient prayer necklace—of healing white jade stones evokes the luminescence of the moon, lending unity, protection and understanding to its wearer.

As we gaze upward into the night sky, we are reminded of our souls’ infinite potential; we accept the invitation from the heavens, allowing our sacred light to illuminate the darkness.

Passion, Experience & Wisdom: Satya’s Top Tips for Entrepreneurs

For anyone who has ever launched a business, you know it begins with passion: Whatever you’re interested in doing, you find you just can’t bear not doing more of it. Suddenly, that hobby morphs into a thriving side hustle, or you make the leap to launching a full-time endeavor. (Either way, congrats are in order!) But while passion will certainly serve you well along the way, nothing compares to having time tested wisdom from someone who’s been there—through all of the ups and downs that entrepreneurship inevitably brings. In honor of National Boss Day and Satya Jewelry’s 17th anniversary, we tapped our founder Satya Scainetti for her top tips for entrepreneurs. Read on to glean some of Satya’s wisdom—and get ready to be inspired!

1. Practice absolute self-care:

However you define self-care, make it a top priority, Satya advises. For her, honoring her spiritual practice during her morning ritual, eating well and exercising daily are key components to being a successful boss. Taking care of herself first helps her recharge, leaving her ready to face whatever the day has in store. As any business owner can attest, it can be all too easy to work from the moment you open your eyes and reach for your phone—but that can lead to burnout. “Step away!” Satya says. “Recharge any way you can.” By making self-care a top priority, you’ll be better equipped to receive creative inspiration, think critically and show up fully for your business and your employees.

2. Be flexible:

“Embrace the ebb and flow,” Satya offers. From her background in social work, Satya learned problem-solving and adaptation skills that serve her well in running Satya Jewelry. Things won’t always go the way you think they’re going to when you’re an entrepreneur, so, she says, “You have to evolve and be willing to be flexible.” This will not only help you alleviate stress from day to day, but will benefit your business in the long run as you learn to pivot and act accordingly.

3. Change your perception:

Switching up your attitude can make all the difference in being a successful boss. Sure, we all get frustrated, and there may be days where you question if being an entrepreneur is right for you. But just changing your perception can go a long way in building your business and maintaining your sanity. “Take a challenge as an opportunity to learn and grow,” Satya shares. By doing so, you’ll gain invaluable wisdom you can fall back on the next time you come up against an obstacle.

4. Keep moving!

“Don’t get stuck on the 20% that’s not working,” Satya advises. “Be excited about the 80% that is working!” So often, we dig in and try to fix what seems “broken”—and we forget to look at the big picture and take in what’s helping our business to thrive. “Don’t get stuck on the smaller losses,” she says. “That will only create a downward cycle. Instead, know that sometimes being imperfect is perfect. You’ve got personalities to manage, product to sell, finances to deal with—you can’t get stuck. Keep moving. Be excited about the wins.”

5. Lead by example:

A positive attitude, a calm demeanor in the face of a crisis, treating others equitably —these are all important qualities in a boss. Not only can they help keep morale up, but such traits can engender loyalty. One more thing an entrepreneur can do to gain the respect of others in the company? “Lead by example,” says Satya. “Work every bit as hard as your employees. It goes a long way.”

6. Practice non-attachment.

For a boss, planning ahead is necessary. Between goal setting, budgets, and marketing calendars, you take countless steps to try and ensure your business continues to thrive. At the end of the day, though, even the best-laid plans may not pan out. This is when the beauty of non-attachment reveals itself. By letting go of what you had planned on (hoped for!), you can gain a new perspective on what’s happening in there here and now, Satya shares. Go ahead and feel whatever you’re feeling when you meet a challenge; the trick to non-attachment is to acknowledge your emotions and then let them go. This allows you the freedom to continue on with your day, your week, your month. Non-attachment works for positive emotions as well; simply pay attention to the happiness or pride you’re feeling, then let it go so you can tune in to the beautiful now.

Inspiration Behind the New Chakras Collection

Inspired by the healing energy that flows between the mind, body and spirit, Satya Jewelry has created the New Chakra Collection, an assortment of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings to support and balance the chakras, or sacred energy centers throughout the body.

Black onyx, gemstone of perseverance, grounding and  endurance figures prominently throughout the collection. A new mala, or ancient prayer necklace, pairs black onyx beads with healing gemstones, encouraging balance and energy flow.

Celebrating 17 Years of Satya Jewelry: Reflection, Gratitude & Setting Intentions for the Future

September is upon us, and as always with the passage of a season, I am both excited for what lies ahead and already a bit wistful for what we’re leaving behind. Still, my aim is to be present in the moment, to be grateful for what is—here, now. That sense of gratitude often leads me to reflect on the journey that has brought me where I am today, and all that I have to be thankful for. This year, Satya Jewelry celebrates 17 years in business, and as I write this, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the guiding forces that have led me here, the customers who have supported us throughout the years and for all the people who have walked this path with me. Today, I want to share the intentions I have for the future of Satya Jewelry—and I invite you to continue to walk this very blessed journey with me.

Spirituality

Satya Jewelry has been, since its inception, a brand rooted in spirituality. We remain committed to helping others find their truth, no matter their religion (or lack thereof). “Though the paths are many, the truth is one” is a cornerstone of our foundation; we seek to uplift, inspire and to connect to a higher purpose through meaningful jewelry—no matter how we may arrive at our shared destination.

Empowerment

It is my intention to remind each person who wears our jewelry of their innate potential—their infinite beauty, their boundless capacity for love, their wisdom, talent and strength. However you come to Satya Jewelry—whether you choose it for yourself or have had it gifted to you by someone else—I hope that each time you wear it, you wear it as an act of self love and feel empowered to walk the path to your highest truth. I hope you feel beautiful!

Supporting Women

Satya Jewelry is a woman-owned and operated company, and it has always been—and will continue to be—a place that employs and supports equality for all women. When women come together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish! It is always my intention to foster connection through beautiful jewelry, through shared stories, through both commonality and differences.

Diversity

Satya Jewelry is for everyone—all walks of life, all religions, all gender identities and sexual orientations. It is my intention to make everyone feel not only welcome when they shop our pieces, but to make them feel seen, supported and celebrated. Diversity is beautiful, and as is evident in our multi-cultural office, it only makes us stronger!

Giving Back

When I was first called to found Satya Jewelry 17 years ago, I knew the foundation of this business would be giving back. Since its launch, our customers have helped Satya Jewelry raise over a million dollars through The Satya Foundation. My intention to make a difference through the creation of meaningful jewelry is as true now as it was then; in giving to others, we receive the greatest, most precious gifts. Today we also support benefit many other beautiful causes through our gifts that give back including the Save Elephant Foundation, Tibet House and Next For Autism (just to name a few). I can’t wait to see what else we can accomplish in the years to come!
