Inspiration Behind the New Chakras Collection

Inspired by the healing energy that flows between the mind, body and spirit, Satya Jewelry has created the New Chakra Collection, an assortment of necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings to support and balance the chakras, or sacred energy centers throughout the body.

Black onyx, gemstone of perseverance, grounding and  endurance figures prominently throughout the collection. A new mala, or ancient prayer necklace, pairs black onyx beads with healing gemstones, encouraging balance and energy flow.

Celebrating 17 Years of Satya Jewelry: Reflection, Gratitude & Setting Intentions for the Future

September is upon us, and as always with the passage of a season, I am both excited for what lies ahead and already a bit wistful for what we’re leaving behind. Still, my aim is to be present in the moment, to be grateful for what is—here, now. That sense of gratitude often leads me to reflect on the journey that has brought me where I am today, and all that I have to be thankful for. This year, Satya Jewelry celebrates 17 years in business, and as I write this, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the guiding forces that have led me here, the customers who have supported us throughout the years and for all the people who have walked this path with me. Today, I want to share the intentions I have for the future of Satya Jewelry—and I invite you to continue to walk this very blessed journey with me.

Spirituality

Satya Jewelry has been, since its inception, a brand rooted in spirituality. We remain committed to helping others find their truth, no matter their religion (or lack thereof). “Though the paths are many, the truth is one” is a cornerstone of our foundation; we seek to uplift, inspire and to connect to a higher purpose through meaningful jewelry—no matter how we may arrive at our shared destination.

Empowerment

It is my intention to remind each person who wears our jewelry of their innate potential—their infinite beauty, their boundless capacity for love, their wisdom, talent and strength. However you come to Satya Jewelry—whether you choose it for yourself or have had it gifted to you by someone else—I hope that each time you wear it, you wear it as an act of self love and feel empowered to walk the path to your highest truth. I hope you feel beautiful!

Supporting Women

Satya Jewelry is a woman-owned and operated company, and it has always been—and will continue to be—a place that employs and supports equality for all women. When women come together, there is nothing we cannot accomplish! It is always my intention to foster connection through beautiful jewelry, through shared stories, through both commonality and differences.

Diversity

Satya Jewelry is for everyone—all walks of life, all religions, all gender identities and sexual orientations. It is my intention to make everyone feel not only welcome when they shop our pieces, but to make them feel seen, supported and celebrated. Diversity is beautiful, and as is evident in our multi-cultural office, it only makes us stronger!

Giving Back

When I was first called to found Satya Jewelry 17 years ago, I knew the foundation of this business would be giving back. Since its launch, our customers have helped Satya Jewelry raise over a million dollars through The Satya Foundation. My intention to make a difference through the creation of meaningful jewelry is as true now as it was then; in giving to others, we receive the greatest, most precious gifts. Today we also support benefit many other beautiful causes through our gifts that give back including the Save Elephant Foundation, Tibet House and Next For Autism (just to name a few). I can’t wait to see what else we can accomplish in the years to come!

Standing in Strength: 5 Things That Empower & Uplift Me

As summer slips into August and the season slows to a more leisurely rhythm, I am turning my thoughts toward becoming more grounded in the weeks ahead. I treasure these days of Summer, when anything feels possible but I also welcome the opportunity to set my intentions for the last days of August, when I can stand a bit more firmly rooted, ready to embrace my inner strength and focus that the pending autumn will require. Here are five of my favorite tips for standing in strength ahead of the season of change. I hope you’ll find them as empowering and uplifting as I do!

1. Find Strength in Sisterhood

Making time for girlfriends is a crucial part of what helps me feel strong. There is a magical thing that happens when women gather—a power unlike anything I’ve experienced. We recharge each other, we honor each other, we lift each other up. We women have a beautiful ability to express ourselves, which I find healing; being heard and seen without judgment, without turning away, without needing to “fix” things—there is medicine in that. Women show up and hold space for each other, and they do so fearlessly.

2. Create a Morning Ritual

Creating a ritual of any kind can help you stand in your strength, but I especially love having a morning ritual to set the tone for each day. My daily practice includes lighting a candle, taking a few moments to tap into the source, inhaling a few slow breaths and honoring that divine spirit within me. This kicks off my day in a centered, positive way—and anytime I can tune in to my faith and honor myself simultaneously, I feel empowered to take on whatever lies ahead.

3. Take To the Mat

Yoga is an essential part of how I feel strong—physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. I roll out my mat every morning and do some downward dogs to get my energy flowing. This brings me into my body and reminds me of my strength! Yoga is all about internal strength; when you breathe from your naval, you align yourself and you’re ready to go! Remember, your solar plexus chakra is really the core of who you are. Yoga helps to strengthen that subtly, but also so powerfully.

4. Gather, Commune, Connect

Gathering is an incredibly powerful—and these days, often overlooked—practice that helps strengthen all of those who come together. When we gather with each other, whether with friends or family or new acquaintances, we share our common humanity. We connect. We create community. So often, we spend our days plugged in to our computers, phones; it’s so easy to send a text instead of meeting face to face or actually calling someone on the phone! I find time spent in company of others a true and precious gift. Gathering is a beautiful way to feel uplifted, strong and empowered!

5. Choose Meaningful Jewelry

When I had my twins, I was draped in black onyx. I didn’t even realize why at the time—it was just what I reached for, what I was drawn to wearing. Only when I had some distance—and sleep!—did I realize that of course I wore black onyx; it is the gemstone of endurance and strength! Wearing it all the time helped me ride the waves that early motherhood brings. These days, “Don’t leave home without a mala!” is something you’ll hear me say repeatedly. These ancient prayer necklaces can be used in meditation or can be worn as a totem to help keep you grounded and remind you to breathe; I love touching mine and feeling the healing power of the gemstones.

Jewelry serves as an important reminder of what drew you to it and what you need in your life. It can also be so fun to mark an occasion with jewelry and have it take you back to a beautiful memory. I’ve held “gathering of great souls” parties and for one of them, Gurmukh and I gave everyone friendship bracelets as a parting gift. Now we all have this beautiful token to remind us of the magic of that night.

Introducing ‘The Beautiful You’: In Honor of Autism Awareness

I’m so excited to share a project that I’ve been dreaming about since my son Jack was diagnosed with PDD or the early stages of Autism spectrum disorder.  My little Jack was only 18 months at the time and developing just like his twin brother, Thay.  It was one week after a scheduled vaccine shot that he stopped talking and would no longer look at me.

Picture 052

Four months later on his 2nd birthday, I was looking at my boy’s side by side and knew something wasn’t right. I was mostly concerned about Jack’s lack of speech, as the few words he did know were now muffled.  Right away, I asked his pediatrician for a recommendation thinking he just needed some help in his articulation. But after speaking with 3 different speech therapists, we were referred to a home evaluation agency. This is when life changed forever.

As a parent, being told your child has a diagnosis of something you know nothing about is terrifying. So many emotions set in from sadness to fear, anger, and grief.  But, I knew I had to keep going and for the next 8 years, I became a mommy on a mission to understand my son’s diagnosis. I feel very blessed to have worked with so many incredible doctors, healers and organizations that have helped us on this journey.  But more importantly, what a blessing it was to learn and understand my son and this incredible community of families.

Having been a child advocate for most of my life and using Satya Jewelry as a means to help children in need, it’s now my turn to give back to this community which is my community. In honor of Autism Awareness month, I’ve teamed up with NEXT for AUTISM which is an amazing nonprofit dedicated to supporting and improving the lives of families and people diagnosed on the Spectrum.

We are so excited to launch ‘The Beautiful You’ collection that celebrates the unique gifts in all of us. The symbol we’ve chosen is a reminder that by embracing our differences and supporting one another, we are all one. To me, this collection represents hope, love. inclusivity and understanding for all. For each piece sold, Satya Jewelry will donate $40 to NEXT for AUTISM.

This is where you come in. In honor of Autism Awareness month, I graciously ask you to share my story with anyone you think this would touch or inspire. My hope is that through increased awareness, there will be greater understanding for this community.

With love and blessings,

Satya xo

P.s: Jack is doing more amazing then ever! Most of all he makes us laugh every day with his sense of humor and infectious smile.
